Office Administrator Vacancy

We require an Office Administrator to provide support to our well-established and busy accountancy firm located in a beautiful rural setting close to Alresford.

Butler & Co has 4 directors and a friendly, diverse team of 28 employees. This is a varied role and we are looking for a positive and enthusiastic person with excellent communication and IT skills. The successful candidate must possess good organisational skills and attention to detail and have previous administration experience (within a firm of accountants useful but not essential).

As an Administrator you will work as part of a small team supporting the Directors and the Accounts and Tax Departments. Key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • General secretarial responsibilities including typing and preparing letters for the Directors and Managers
  • Assisting with reception (answering the phone, greeting clients, opening, logging & franking the post etc) as required
  • Arranging meetings and keeping diaries updated
  • Answering enquiries from clients and senior staff
  • The administration of time & fees/month end procedures
  • Purchasing office supplies
  • Arranging and maintaining office contracts

We will consider both full and part-time applications, however the hours required will need to cover until 5:00pm or 5:30pm but the start time and days worked per week is negotiable. Full-time hours would be 9:00am to 5:30pm (or 8:30am to 5:00pm). The role will be largely office based with some scope for home working. The salary will be in the region of £27,000 to £28,000 pa (pro rata for part-time) depending on experience. Due to location, access to your own transport is essential.
